ABOUT TONKINS SPORTS |
 Working around school and sports commitments, Allan Tonkin started work at the Colin Stringer sports store in the 1960's.He eventually bought the buisness from Colin and moved it to its current Ocean Street location in 1969. For the the last 40 years Allan has led an interesting life not only running the store but also guiding tours of fishing parties through the top end of Australia and Papua New Guinea using his extensive knowledge of the top end geography. He is known for his extensive local fishing knowledge as well. All the Tonkins SportScene staff are sports-knowledgable and are avid fishermen and hunters with many years of experience in the local area and abroad. |
